A website brief is a decision tool. Start by describing the people you want to reach, the questions they bring and the action you want them to take. A list of pages alone rarely explains what makes the project valuable.
Next, collect the content and constraints. List the services or products you need to explain, the integrations you rely on, the people who will maintain the site and the date you need to launch. Decide which features are essential for launch and which can follow.
Agree how you will judge the result. Useful measures might include qualified enquiries, booking completion, fewer support questions or a faster content workflow. Set a baseline where possible, and make analytics part of the implementation brief.
Finally, define responsibility. Confirm who supplies copy, approves designs, manages hosting and owns the launch checks. A brief that answers these questions gives your project team a much stronger starting point.
